THE LAVENDER HILLBILLIES NEWS
November 2011 The Lavender Hillbillies are going through quite a transition. John (Banjo) and Liza (Uke and stuff) are leaving us soon. So before they do, we decided to do a sort of "farewell" gig with them while we still can. So, on Saturday 17th December we will be playing at our favourite pub; The Eagle Ale House. The "Pack Your Bags Up Christmas Bash" starts about 8:00pm and we would advise you to get down there early because it's a small place and ,if previous gigs are anything to go by, it should be rammed! |
January 2011 Happy New Year! You may have noticed The Lavender Hillbillies have been a bit quiet lately. And we're going to be even quieter in the future! We are trying to go a bit more acoustic with our music. This is due, in part, to John Banjovi sticking his head in Ed's (Strange Fashion) speakers at the last Eagle beer festival and getting Tinnitus. However, we will be playing again at Wizz's Sitting Room on Thursday 24th February. More details here. And all the stuff you ever needed or wanted to know about the legendary Wizz Jones can be gleaned here. |
August 2010 The Eagle Ale House Beer & Music Festival. The Lavender Hillbillies are exhausted after a marathon Beer Festival at The Eagle. Lots of fantastic beer. Even Alice, our percussionist, switched from her regular tipple of Lager & Lime(?) and drank copious amounts of real ale. The music was excellent, and our friends Strange Fashion were brilliant as usual. If you want to keep up to speed with what they're up to you should visit their website here: www.strangefashion.co.uk
